Since the beginning, the Foresight’s team has been committed to empowering Indigenous communities by providing education and skill transfer that is specifically tailored to make eye care accessible, affordable, appropriate, and acceptable for everyone. One of Foresight’s recent achievements was providing training to Aboriginal Health Workers in rural NSW. These dedicated individuals are now equipped to conduct vision screenings, ensuring more remote and underserved communities have access to vital eye care services. By including vision screening in outreach programs, they aim to reduce the alarming statistic that 35% of Indigenous adults have never had an eye exam.

Cataract surgery is a 30-minute procedure that can transform lives. Unfortunately, many Indigenous Australians are left waiting, their vision worsening, due to a lack of access to this life-changing surgery. Foresight is committed to reducing waiting lists and preventing permanent blindness.
