Leave a Lasting Legacy

Leaving a bequest or gift to Foresight in your will provides a lasting legacy to blindness prevention.

It will help us meet the challenge of preventing and curing avoidable blindness.

One of our wonderful supporters, the late Christina Gordon, was a regular donor for many years, providing important support for our work in the Solomon Islands. We were sad to hear the news of her passing and were touched and moved by her generosity and compassion to help the worlds blind to receive a significant bequest to Foresight in her will.

The bequest that she gave to Foresight enabled the creation of The Christina Gordon Fellowship, in her honour. The Fellowship allows for an international doctor to receive training in ophthalmology for up to two years. The inaugural fellowship recipient was Dr Mundi Qalo, from the Solomon Islands, and the Fellowship enabled  him to complete his Diploma of Ophthalmology from the University of Papua New Guinea. He then progressed to a Master’s degree from the Pacific Eye Institute and is now working in the Pacific and making a big difference in the lives of patients.

If you plan to leave a gift to Foresight, please let us know as we would be honoured to recognise you and keep you informed of the latest developments with our programs and invite you to attend functions and events, with others of the Foresight community who share a similar commitment to blindness prevention.
