TOP ThREE TIPS
1. Set a fundraising goal
Before you get started figure out how much you want to raise and why you want to raise it. For example I want to raise $500 so I can help Foresight undertake free cataract surgery for children in the Philippines. This will make it easy for you to communicate what you are doing to your family and friends.
2. Stick to a budget
Your event should have a budget listing of all the expenses that you require. Things like staff, invitations, venue hire, catering, entertainment, transport, utilities and anything else that will be required to make the event a success. Your budget should take into account your fundraising goal, ensuring that you raise that amount above and beyond all expenses.
3. Say thank you!
It’s so important to thank the people who support your fundraising efforts either with their time or money. Ensure they know their support will ensure that people suffering from blindness and impaired vision, in some of the most vulnerable communities in the world, will now have a bright future. And it is thanks to them! Share with them Foresight’s e-news and social posts so they can see their support has been put to good use.
