Emeritus Prof. Frank Billson, AO
Frank Billson is a pioneer in saving the sight of babies and young children. Co-founder of Foresight Australia, he has extensive experience in skills transfer programs in the Asia Pacific. He believes that shared knowledge is the key to empowering communities to become self-sufficient and meet their own eye care needs.
Associate Prof. Geoffrey Painter
Associate Professor at Macquarie University’s Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Geoffrey Painter is a member of the RANZCO (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists) International Ophthalmology Committee. Geoffrey has been leading the Solomon Islands Eye Program for over 15 years and is part of the Eyes on China Program.
Dr Nitin Verma
An honorary senior lecturer at the University of Sydney, Nitin Verma was recently awarded the RANZCO Distinguished Service Award. He founded and leads the East Timor Eye Project. He believes ‘Restoring a person’s eyesight is one of the most gratifying things a doctor can do and makes an immense difference to the lives of the East Timorese people.’
